The Muse and The Heart

It’s been a while since I’ve shared some poetry, the Muse had left the building for sometime. I believe I may have been lost.

I didn’t seek the moon or the stars for confirmation of God’s existence nor light a candle for connection to my ancestors.

The heart was broken, my heart was broken.

Not due to a love lost but a pain one can only describe as indescribable. A battle of wills, self respect and control.

At times I saw myself as two people, two versions of myself floating in others memories. One version, strong, self-assured, confident. The muse. Then the other Tainted, a victim, broken. The Heart.

Trained for decades to say “I’m ok….” but how can one be ok when the Muse has left and the broken Heart remains. How can one be, when she is unable to be anything good and creative.

Solitude began and with a deep breath I stepped into darkness and Pain, Into my heart welcomed with open arms. Here I find the Muse, within the darkness.

Like a reflection I find myself staring back at me and with a soft voice the Muse said….

I’ve been waiting for you………You wanted to find your strength, your creativity and drive…. But you chose Solitude, you gave up…….well guess what…… Here I am, within your heart, your darkness….. Your journey is Just beginning and I am here to guide you to your light through your pain. I will give you the words…….Just write!

And with that, the Heart and the Muse made a pact to walk side by side through the darkness, creating words and thoughts to bring clarity and healing.

This blog is changing, It is for me, my healing, my growth and my process. It is what it was intended for, my expression in all forms of writing and healing……..So get ready…..It’s going to be a bumpy ride…… (Muse)
