So technically it’s day 6 but as 2 days were spent travelling here it’s Day 4 for us.
The Cost of Living
So one of the reasons I chose Thailand was because I heard that food is cheap and a little can go a long way. Now this is true, for one person travelling but for a family of 4 with only 1 paying adult, it’s actually quite pricey in this part of Phuket.
You can haggle down the price for goods but for food, the prices are obviously set. The cheapest options I’ve come across are Pad Thai and Fried Rice. The portions are large enough to share between us all and with an extra protein added, the dishes can spread pretty far.
Or at least it did for the first day. It seems my kids appetite has opened and they are taking full advantage of the food and culture which means I’m burning through money quicker then I ever imagined.
So all in all it’s been a good location and an experience I certainly don’t regret taking the kids on but I equally think I would have enjoyed a few more things if I was alone or just with Shamaya (eldest kid).
I’m burning through my deposit in this hotel! 😒”
My kids broke a glass and then snuggled ink felt tip PENS!!! into the flipping country and ruined the bed sheets with ink whilst I took a nap!
I’m convinced that the boys tag team on whose gonna misbehave first! Well, I’m not having it (let’s just put it that way)
Honestly I am enjoying myself, it’s just a little exhausting constantly counting the penny’s and watching the kids. I’m meant to be travelling in October with Shamaya as the boys are going with their dad to Spain.
But…..
I’m highly considering taking a solo trip and having a break to recover from this break 🤣
